This highly anticipated feature film is set to begin production in spring 2008 with DGA Award-winning director and choreographer Kenny Ortega returning to direct from a screenplay by Peter Barsocchini, who wrote the scripts for the smash hit Disney Channel Original Movies High School Musical and High School Musical 2. The musical film’s producers are Bill Borden, Barry Rosenbush and Don Schain.
Commenting on the announcement, Aviv said, “We’re thrilled to have all of the talented cast members who helped to make High School Musical such an incredible phenomenon joining us for this big screen motion picture event.
They’ve developed a tremendous following with fans all over the world and High School Musical 3: Senior Year takes these popular characters in some intriguing and entertaining new directions.
Clearly, the music, spirit and personalities in these films have touched audiences in a very special way, and this latest musical adventure delivers lots of great new entertainment on an even grander scale.
High School Musical 3: Senior Year finds high school seniors Troy and Gabriella facing the prospect of being separated from one another as they head off in different directions to college.
Joined by the rest of the Wildcats, they stage an elaborate spring musical reflecting their experiences, hopes and fears about their future.

High School Musical 3: Senior Year will be hitting the big screens in Malaysia on Oct 2.
Troy Bolton and Gabriella Montez are known as good students – they don’t drink, don’t do drugs, but that’s all going to change in High School Musical 3 – The Teenage Years.
The plot is Troy and Gabriella try drugs for the first time and they get addicted and try other stuff – sex and alcohol. Sharpay gets pregnant by Zeke (we all knew that was going to happen) and how they all deal with life today and leaving each other to go to college.
Ashley Tisdale (who is best known for playing the part of Maddie in the Suite Life of Zack and Cody) was the first to hear about the news and told Extra fans that is going to be good playing an older character and that she is in her 20′s and doesn’t want to keep playing the younger teenager and wants to expand her acting skills.
Vanessa Hudgens told E! News fans that HSM 3 is going to be made for the older fans, and the film is going to be rated NC – 17.
Many of the other HSM co-stars were not pleased to hear about the new movie plans, especially Corbin Bleu who told Access Hollywood that HSM was made for kids and it is turning into another Teen rated movie idea and he is not on board and is not planing on changing his mind (he later did in a board meeting with HSM director Kenny Ortago)
Zac Efron who got sent to Hospital the other day, was released with Vanessa Hudgens by his side. Zac told the paparazzi he had no idea the been changed and is on board and hopes that the last installment is the best ever.
Kenny Ortago told Extra! news that he plans to make a Disney Channel Version for the teen fans and they hope to start filming in Spring 2008 and is planned to be released in October 2008.
